May 2018 Resort Tax Board Election

Posted: 07/07/2017

The Resort Tax Board serves on a voluntary basis and oversees collection and appropriation of Big Sky's local 3% sales tax. The board meets monthly, reviews applications for funding in May and appropriates funding in June.

Resort Tax Board Members serve a four-year term once elected in a May special election in even-numbered years. In May 2018, two of the five seats will be on the ballot.

To be on the ballot for the May 2018 elections, contact the Gallatin County Elections Office at 406-582-3060 or charlotte.mills@gallatin.mt.gov. The Elections Office will have the file set up and be ready to accept names beginning in January.

Please note, the law states a candidate must reside in the Big Sky Resort Area District (not just a land owner).
